Edward Bayer was a POW in the Philippine Islands. He survived the sinking of the Oryoku Maru on December 15, 1944, at Subic Bay, Philippine Islands. He was put on the Enoura Maru which was bombed by American planes at Takao, Formosa, on January 9, 1945. He died during the attack.
