Services were held Friday morning at 10 o'clock for Mrs. W.R. Beckendorff. Rev. Gregory Longenbaugh officiated at the services at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Katy Magnolia Cemetery.

Mrs. Beckendorff had been ill for the past three years and during that time her daughter, Mrs. James (Margaret Campbell) Hollon of Royce City was with her at her home in Katy or Mrs. Beckendorff visited in Royce City with the Hollons. Her death came at Methodist Hospital Wednesday afternoon, September 29, 1971 following complications which developed when she received a broken hip and shoulder about 10 days before.

She was a cheerful, kind person and even during her illness loved to read and to visit.

She was born Annie Jones in Wellington, Texas on November 17, 1896. she married Will Beckendorff of Katy in 1956. He died in December 1958.

Survivors besides her daughter, Mrs. James Hollon, are a son, R.F. (Bob) Genusa of Houston; three grandsons, Jack Hollon of Dallas, Jerry Hollon of Austin, and Mike Hollon of Fort Stockton; three granddaughters, Miki and Sandy Genusa and Mrs. Jim (Karen) Hightower, Jr. all of Houston; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
