many years, died at the home of a
son in Leon, Wednesday of last week
Pearl Archibald, son of Robert
and Matilda Clinkenbeard Archibald
was born June 21, 1880, in Davis
County, Iowa, near what was
known as Stober Springs and departed
this life March 5, 1952.
He was educated in the local
public schools and farmed in that
vicinity during his early manhood.
On August 30, 1903 he was united
in marriage to Elizabeth Etta Mc
Cullough and eight children were
born to this union: Milber Carl, Leon
Iowa; Clayton Albert, Lancaster
Mo.; Helen Harden, Leon, Iowa; Lucille
Brown, Burlington, Iowa; Robert,
St. James, Mo.; Grace Hall,
Kirksville, Mo.; Gladys Burgher
Dallas City, 111.; Kathleen McNerncy
Des Moines, Iowa.
In 1910 Pearl moved to Coatsville,
Mo. where he engaged in a general
mercantile business until he retired
in 1948. He was a kind and loving
husband and father, a friend to everyone
in need, always ready with
a helping hand. In 1908 he united
with the Baptist church and was a
faithful member until his health
prevented him from active work.
He leaves to mourn his passing
his devoted wife, eight children, ten
grandchildren, two brothers and one
sister, as well as a host of friends
who will never forget his many acts
of kindness.
Funeral services were held from
the Baptist church in Coatsville, Mo„
Saturday afternoon, March 8, with
interment in the Coatsville cemetery.
