Michael and Mary Ann had 7 children together all born in Airdrie: Margaret, Thomas, Patrick, John, Michael and Helen.
Michael died on April 1, 1901 in Airdrie, County of Lanark, Scotland and is laid to rest with his wife Mary Ann Griffin and their son Thomas who died June 10, 1904 all are buried in the same grave.
Also buried in the same grave are the following: John A. Cannon, Mary Ann Cannon, Catherine Cannon, Margaret Cannon, Elizabeth McIlroy Cannon 6 months old and James Cannon in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Dykeshead Road, Ardrie, Scotland.
