PLATTSBURGH – Mrs. Rose F. Fayette, 86, of 98 Pine St., died Tuesday in the Physicians Unit of the Medical Center after a long illness.

She was born in Port Henry Jan. 31, 1883, daughter of Louis and Celia (Stay) Sharland.

Rose was an installation member of Auxiliary 309 when it formed in 1937. She served in many chairs during her lifetime. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. John's.

She is survived by two sons, George H. Fayette of Denver, Colo., and Elmer Fayette of the Tom Miller Road; one daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Pearl) Martelli of Massillon, Ohio; one brother, Charles Sharland of Plattsburgh, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Delbert Daniel Fayette in 1942. She was also predeceased by several sisters and brother, her parents Louis and Celia Sharland, a son and a daughter who died in infancy.

The body is at the Brown Funeral Home where calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the St. John's Altar Rosary Society are asked to meet at the funeral home today at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John's Church Friday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

PLATTSBURGH - A concelebrated Mass for Mrs. Rose E. Fayette, 88, who died Tuesday at CVPH Medical Center was sung Friday at St. John's Church. The Rev. Gerald Sharland, pastor of St. Patrick's Church
in Rouses Point, and the Rev. Paul Priester celebrated the Mass. The Rev Gerald Sharland was Rose's nephew, the son of her brother Alexander.

Bearers were Adrian LaMar, Robert Bombard, Ronald Martin, Albert Dubuque, Asa Holmes and Harold Goehlke.

The VFW Auxiliary Unit honor guard were Carol Monty, Marion Myers, Yvonne Lyman, Stella Lashway, Marguerite Bechard, Mabel Page and Bessie Moulton.

Burial was in the family plot in Mt Carmel Cemetery.
