Author. A best-selling writer of fantasy and adventure novels, he is most noted for "The Belgariad" and "The Malloreon" series, which includes the works "Pawn of Prophecy" (1982) and "Guardians of the West" (1985). Raised north of Seattle, he was educated at Reed College and the University of Washington. His studies were interrupted while he served in the United States Army. Eddings worked for the Boeing Company and taught English at the college level before writing his first novel "High Hunt" in 1973. His wife Leigh Eddings (1937-2007) co-authored several of his books. Among his other memorable works are "The Losers" (1992), "The Redemption of Althalus" (2000) and "Regina's Song" (2002).
