Charlotte was born 1820 in SummerHill, Cayuga County, NY, she was the daughter of John Belden Buttery who served in the War of 1812. She had been married twice according to the 1870 census of SummerHill. First husband was unknown, second was to Seth Haskell who was born 1821 NYS and died April 5, 1876. Charlotte died July 4, 1877 she was 57 yrs old. Both she and Seth are buried near their parents in the Simmonds Cemetery (West Homer Cemtery) somewhere along Creech Road in Summer Hill. The cemetery was located on top of a steep hill and just down the road was a small County Inn, called the 'Country Kitchen'.
