Jacob, son of Jacob and Sarah Folk, was born near Findlay, Hancock Co, Ohio, July 5, 1841.

He was the third child of a family of five children, namely, Sarah, Andrew, Jacob, Daniel and Henry. With his death the entire family have passed beyond.

On March 17, 1867, he was united in marriage to Miss Sarah McIntire, of near Findlay, Ohio. To this union was born eight children: Ida, Effa, Blanche, Lemuel, Albert, Amelia, Icy and Ruby, all of whom are living except Effa and Blanche. Effa having died Nov. 19, 1889 and Blanche, Oct. 11, 1897. The faithful and devoted wife and mother preceeded him in death on July 26, 1902. In November 1903 he was married to Mrs. Margaret King of Deshler, Ohio, who passed away Sept. 6, 1920.

He had been a farmer in this community for many years preceding his moving to town a few years ago.

He had been in declining health for about four years and death relieved him of his suffering Friday morning March 20, 1925, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 15 days.

He leaves to mourn two sons, Lemuel, of Auburn, Ind., Albert, of Fostoria, Mrs. Icy Williams, Dundee, Monroe Co, Mich., Mrs. Amelia Hann, of Marion, Ohio, Mrs. Ida Hyde and Mrs. Ruby Shaffer, both of this city, twenty-five grand children, nineteen great grand children and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home on Rush Street, Sunday, March 22, at 1 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Lehr A. McCord of the Lutheran Church.
