Titus was the son of Lewis Rector England. Titus' grandparents were contemporaries and neighbors with the Richards, Stewart, Warren, Hodges, and Jones families back in Franklin County Virginia in the mid to late 1700s.

These families migrated into Tennessee through the Cumberland Gap in 1810-1814 to pioneer land in Robertson, Roane, and Morgan counties there. Later, in the 1820-1830 period, these same families moved on into Morgan and Macoupin Counties of Illinois. Some went on to northwest Missouri, while these Englands settled in Benton County MO.
