Verla Snowden Toler, 78, of 1323 Fulton Road, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Winchester Centre for Health & Rehabilitation.

A native of Powell County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Lula Conner Snowden. She was a retired employee of Roses Department Store with 20 years of service and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lana Toler and D. Ray Gillespie, Lexington; a daughter-in-law, Linda Dawson Toler, Winchester; two grandsons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Ray Gillespie, Lexington, and John and Sherry Toler, Winchester; a granddaughter and son-in-law, Ursula and Brad Matlock, Winchester; four great-grandchildren, Coty Matlock, Brittany Matlock and Tiffany and Jordon Toler; a sister, Virginia White, Mt. Sterling; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bruce and Carol Snowden and Hartwell Snowden, Clay City, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Scobee Funeral Home by Pastor Pearl Saylor and Rev. Donald Wayne Hatton. Burial will be in Clarmont Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Mike, Jerry and Mark Snowden, Scott White and Byron Welch; honorary, Shelby Toler, Roy Wood, Jimmy Roundtree, Tom Woolwine, Mike Flynn, Charlie Estes, Mike Fisher, Dora Toler Hall, Gladys Henry and Marilyn Johnson.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Loving Hands Club at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1691 Iron Works Road, Winchester, Ky. 40391, or Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester, Ky. 40391.
