Margherita (Volpe) Cornacchioli, 89, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday June 4, 2009 in the Radius Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family. Her Husband Domenic Cornacchioli died in 1975. Margherita is survived by a son Louis Cornacchioli of Worcester, two daughters Maria DeCillis and her husband Jack of Holden, and Amy Colacchio and her husband Kevin of East Hartford, Ct. four grandchildren; Domenic A. Cornacchioli, Matthew D.Colacchio, Kristin M.Colacchio, and Marisa DeCillis.

Margherita is also survived by two brothers Gennaro Volpe of Italy and Vito Volpe of Argentina, and four sisters; Fonta Valente of Argentina, Grazia Battista, Anna Lofano, and Caterina DeCrisantis all of Italy. She was predeceased by three sisters; Maria Losacco, Nicoletta DiChito and Natalizia Fontana.

Margherita was born in Conversano Provincia, Bari Italy, daughter of Vitoantonio and Irene ( Amatulli) Volpe, and came to the United States in 1956. Besides being a home maker Margherita worked at Sprague Electric as a Quality Control Inspector before she retired. She was a skilled seamstress, loved to travel, bake, and cook. But her most precious times were those spent with her family. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Margherita was a former member of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, and was a devoted life time member of the Carmelite Society in Conversano Italy. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Radius Healthcare Center for their kindness and compassion shown to Margherita and her family.

The funeral service for Margherita will be held Wednesday June 10, at 11:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A calling hour will be held from 10AM until the time of Service. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer`s Association 640 Jackson St. Saint Paul MN.
