MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Markaleta C. Trask, 80, died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at her home.

Born in Monticello, Ark., she was a daughter of the late Brison Prison Crawford and the late Leona Cater Crawford. Mrs. Trask was a member of Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church. She was manager of Americana Motel in Myrtle Beach.

Survivors include three children, Val M. Trask Jr. (Bonnie), Valeta Anna Trask and David K. Trask II (Debbie); seven grandchildren, Erica Guyton (Heath), Madalyn Trask and her fiance Brandon, Savannah Trask, James Timms, Jordan Timms, Lani Trask and David K. Trask IV; a great-grandchild, Emerson W. Guyton; and a brother, John S. Crawford (Betty).

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. John Bauknight officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Bessie Brunson Hall at Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to a hospice care of one's choice.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
