BEN FUKUZAWA, 51, a resident of for the past seven years, died Saturday as the result of an industrial accident at Cascade Helicopters on Aug. 4.
Mr. Fukuzawa was born May 21, 1928, at Kingston. He attended school in North Kitsap, graduating from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1948. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Air Force, and was discharged as a staff sergeant. After his service, he graduated from the Northrup Aeronautical Institute in 1953, and then worked for United Air Lines as a mechanic.
On Dec. 17, I960, he married Haruko Daisy Akashi at Seattle. They moved to Cashmere in 1972, where Mr. Fukuzawa was chief mechanic and part owner of Cascade Helicopters. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Seattle, and was selected Northwest Aviation Mechanic of the Year in 1976.
Surviving are his wife, Daisy, at Cashmere; two sons, John and Ted, both at home; his mother, Yo Fukuzawa, Seattle; sister, Yukie Yumibe, Ore; and brother, Jun Fukuzawa, Los Angeles. Funeral services were morning in the Cashmere. Inurnment took place in Cashmere Cemetery.
