I was heartbroken to see the grave of my cousin, Jo Ann.
Jo was the beloved mother of three and loved by many others. Her sons are Mike, Sammy and Glenn "Scott" Ryder.

Jo taught baton and twirling in Pascagoula for decades. She was a member of the National Baton Twirling Association.
She had state champions come out of her studio. Reba Lewis Dean was Who's Who of Baton Twirling and a member of the Dixie Darlings. Her student twirlers performed at Mississippi State University and Ole Miss.
My cousin Pennye and I both were under her instruction during the 1970s and the two of us went on to become high school majorettes.
Jo was married and divorced from Glenn Ryder, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Pascagoula, MS.
I used the Ryder name in her "middle name" position so that those individuals that only knew her as Jo Ann Ryder could locate her memorial and for genealogical purposes.
Jo re-married but I never met Mr. Spears.
