Here are my notes for Archie, from his entry in my family tree file:

Archibald was born in Tatamagouche, Colchester County, Nova Scotia, Canada. His death certificate lists his date of birth as August 26, 1859, but from various records it appears he might have been 1-2 years older. Archie apparently spent about the first 20 years of his life in Tatamagouche. He is listed on the censuses there in both 1871 and 1881, but not on the 1891. I have come tot the conclusion he is listed on the 1880 census in Ash Township, Monroe County, Michigan, in the household of his brother Joseph Richard Henderson. I believe this was shortly after he had moved to Michigan, and his parents still listed him in their household the next year in Nova Scotia. I am pretty sure Joseph is Archie's brother, even though he was not found in the Nova Scotia records I found. Joseph Richard had married his wife Martha Brown in 1870 in Milford, Oakland County, Michigan. Apparently he had come to Michigan some time before then.

Archie married Elizabeth McManus, in Saginaw County on November 17, 1891. He is listed as a blacksmith on numerous records. His brother Joseph Richard was also listed on records as a blacksmith. Archie died in 1910, apparently from complications of a drinking problem.

(The city of Flint is not in Saginaw County, but it is close, so perhaps they married just outside Flint, and just inside the border of Saginaw County. This seems to show that Archibald was living in Flint. The witness John Brown was the husband of Libbie's sister Ann, and they were living in the Flint area. William McManus was Libbie's brother. This record seems to confirm the fact that Archibald's parents were William Henderson and Catherine Richards. -RW)
