Paul E. Wade, 87, of 19th Street died at 11:20 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at his home.

He was a farmer and member of Burnsville Christian Church.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vernon Jewell–Nick Rittman Funeral Home, with the Revs. George Plantz and Richard Yeaton officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or Burnsville Christian Church.

Mr. Wade was born March 19, 1914, in Bartholomew County, the son of Allen and Nora Hacker Wade. He married Ruby Jackson on Oct. 23, 1937. She died Sept. 24, 2001.

Survivors include sons, Dr. R.D. Wade of South Bend, Gary Wade of Greenwood and Don Wade of Columbus; a daughter, Wanda Bailey of Greenwood; a brother, Robert Wade of Grammer; sisters, Mabel Wendel and Kathryn Romine, both of Columbus; grandchildren, Jill, Emily, Adam, Michael and Jeffery Wade, Laura Pluntz, Ellen Imel and Alison and Valerie Bailey.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Hasselbring, Gladys Jackson and Sylvia Khune.

Paul E. Wade, 87, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at his residence in Columbus.

He was born March 19, 1914, in Bartholomew County. His parents were Allen and Nora (Hacker) Wade. He married Ruby L. (Jackson) Wade on Oct. 23, 1937. She preceded him in death Sept. 24, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda R. Bailey of Greenwood; three sons, Dr. R.D. Wade of South Bend, Gary M. Wade of Greenwood and Don E. Wade of Columbus; two sisters, Mabel Wendel and Kathryn Romine, both of Columbus; a brother, Robert Wade of Grammer; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Hasselbring, Gladys Jackson and Sylvia Khune.

He was a longtime farmer and a member of Burnsville Christian Church.

The Revs. George Plantz and Richard Yeaton will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Vernon Jewell-Nick Rittman Funeral Home in Columbus. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
