Jerry was born in Detroit, MI to David and Adeline Leavey, the youngest of eight children and graduated from Cathedral Central High School. She married Lee Weis on January 2, 1943 in Detroit when he was state-side undergoing medical treatment for malaria. They moved to Albany, OR in 1948. Jerry worked at Stokley Van Camp Cannery in the 60's and Smokecraft from which she retired in 1980. She moved to Spokane in 1986.
