BOUNTIFUL/MEADOW--Tyrrell Squires Toone, devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather, age 93, died January 17, 1997 at the home of his daughter in Bountiful.
He was born October 16, 1903 at Salt Lake City to George Henry and Mary Alice Smith Toone. He married Idonna Adams March 5, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was very active in Scouting. He served as the first Cubmaster in Salt Lake City. He enjoyed serving in the LDS Church wherever he was called. Many High Priest parties were held in his back yard. He loved landscaping and growing flowers and vegetables for himself, family and friends. He was a natural artist and loved to paint. He shared his pictures with all his family and many friends. He served as a Temple worker. He was eager to serve the Lord. He was a missionary in the Southern States Mission and then with Idonna in the North Carolina Mission and two Salt Lake Stake Missions.
He is survived by his wife: Idonna, Bountiful; sons: Don Toone, Henderson, Nevada; Ron (Jeanette) Toone, Bountiful; Warren (Marilyn) Toone, Farmington; Lynn (Darla) Toone, North Logan; Terry (Lynda) Toone, Salt Lake City; daughters: Vicki (Dennis) Plutca, Bountiful; Sonya (Don) Fitcher, Salt Lake City; Shelly (Brad) Airmet, Kamas; 33 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 22, 1997, at 10 a.m. in the Kimble Mill LDS Ward, 650 South 200 East, Bountiful. Friends may call at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Meadow Cemetery at 3 p.m. under the direction of the Nickle Mortuary, Delta.
