Born in Clayton Le Moors, Accrington
Thomas is living with his sister, Tabatha, and her husband, William, in 1861 at 206 Sparth Fold in the township of Clayton Le Moors.

In 1891 census the three older children were listed with the occupation of "Power Loom Weaver (Cotton)"
In 1901 his daughters Nancy, Lily and Esther were not married.

Ivernia Ship manifest shows the arrival in Boston from Liverpool on July 22, 1909 with Esther Hanna Whittaker, her sister, Nancy Jane and their father, Thomas. There final destination was to New Market, New Hampshire where their brother, James resided.

The 5 April 1910 Newmarket, NH census lists the household of Thomas Whittaker at 8 Chapel St. All born in England:
Thomas Whittaker 65 widower
Nancy Whittaker 35 daughter
Elizabeth H. Cooper 43 daughter, widow
Henry Cooper 20 grandson
Thomas Cooper 17 grandson
Thomas and Nancy immigrated in 1909.
Elizabeth and children immigrated in 1907.

The 1920 Killingly, Windham Co., CT census has Thomas and Henry Cooper living near each other. Nancy Whittaker is living with Thomas. Both Thomas and Henry are married.

The info on Thomas's death certificate was provided by his oldest daughter, Lizzie "Elizabeth" Cooper of Dayville, Connecticut.
