Enlisted for one year, Carthage, TN, at age 18-a Private-Company K, 1st Regiment Tennessee Mounted Infantry and fought for the Union. He was a Farmer, had black eyes and was 5 ft 9 inches tall and single. He died from Typhoid Fever at a hospital Butler's Landing, Tennessee, 25 Jan 1865.
