A son of John and Jenny Barnett-Beery, he was born in Decatur January 10, 1896. His wife, the former Marvel M. Mills, survives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Decatur, the Scottish Rite and Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. He was a veteran of WWI.
Surviviors, in addition to the wife, are two children, Lewis E. Beery of route 4, and Mrs. Vern (Mary Jane) Hornbacher, of Angola; four grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Delota Engle, of Monroe.
Friends may call after 2p.m. Wednesday at the Winteregg-Linn Funeral home, where services will be held at 2p.m. on Thursday, the Rev, Harold Leininger officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery.
