Elizabeth Anderson SPEARFISH - Services for Elizabeth Anderson, 90, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Roger Olness officiating. Burial will be in Roubaix Cemetery under direction of Fidler Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Anderson died Friday at Spearfish where she had been hospitalized two weeks. She was born Jan. 17, 1885, in Finland, to Matt and Maria Jaskari Penttila, and came to Nemo in 1900. She married William Anderson in December 1902 at Terraville. He was killed in an accident at Homestake Mine, Feb. 13. 1904. She then began nurse's training and was a member of the first graduating class at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Deadwood, in 1910. She practiced in hospitals at Lead, Newell, Los Angeles and for 40 years at Champaign, Ill., where she retired and moved to Spearfish in 1964. She was a member of Our Savior's Church. Memorials are established to the church and the cancer fund. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Sophie Erickson, Spearfish; also a number of nieces and nephews including Mrs. Oren Artus, Belle Fourche; Mrs. Edith Segarini, San Francisco; Mrs. Albert Mitchell, Lead; William Bentley, Wenatchie, Wash., and Arthur Thompson, Spearfish. Two brothers, Matt and William, and a sister, Lillian, also preceded her in death.
