Miss Mable belong to our Son Ray and his wife Sandy. Really she was Sandy's dog as Buster Brown was Ray's. She was the Mother of my Andrew, (Big Boy) Monday. Andrew's Father was Buster Brown Monday.
There were five little puppies born on July 26, 1993. Three little males and two little females. I took the runt of the litter, which was Andrew (Big Boy) as he was known to his family.
Buster was a sweet little dog but he didn't live but 4 years.
Mable was always on the fiesty side. Didn't like too many people. Ray and Sandy, his wife at the time both worked, and I would go by and feed Miss Mable and make sure the puppies were being taken care of. Guess Miss Mable and I sort of bonded during those visits. My Son let me pick the puppy I wanted to keep for myself and as I stated, I chose the runt of the litter. I named him Andrew two after Hurricane Andrew and we called him Big Boy!
When Ray and Sandy found out they were going to have a baby in 1995, they were deciding what to do with Miss Mable, as she was fiesty enough around grown-ups and they were worried about her being around the baby. They were going to give her away but, my husband and I decided that wouldn't be right or fair, so we took her in.
She didn't have much to do with my husband or any other person as a matter of fact, but she loved me dearly. Didn't want me out of her sight.
Once when I left her in the vehicle with my husband to go into a BBQ House to pick us up some BBQ, my husband made the mistake of opening the door of the vehicle. Miss Mable jumped out, ran across the parking lot into the door of the restaurant that someone had just opened? She was hot on my trail looking for me. My husband came running in looking for her. Everyone stopped and stared at us. That was just too funny.
She was a good and faithful companion to me until her death 6 months after her Son (Big Boy).
She will always be loved and remembered by me.
She was cremated and her ashes sit along side of Andrew (Big Boy) on a shelf in our Family room.
