ANNA RAYHILL


Anna Rock Rayhill, 93, died Sunday night, July 5, 2009, at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge.

Mrs. Rayhill was born November 24, 1915, in Monroe County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Julius and Anna Denkanberger Rock. She was a resident of the Potts Creek Valley for her entire life.

She was a retired rural carrier with the U. S. Postal Service having carried mail on different routes in the area for over 40 years. "Annie" was also a distributor for Raleigh Products in Alleghany, Craig and Monroe counties for many years. She was a member of the Maple Grove Christian Church at Paint Bank and enjoyed bringing young people to church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, John W. Rayhill, in 1997 and also by nine brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her foster-son, Alvin Rider and his wife, Norma, of Ocala, FL; her sister, Eva Johnson of Richmond; her beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
