Virginia Gaines Jones, 96, formerly of 513 Pollock Street, died July 7, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest Jones.
Surviving are her niece, Mattie Boarman; five nephews, Ronald (Doretha) and Marvin Gaines and Milton, Douglas and Leslie R. Jones; great niece; two great great nieces; two great nephews; four devoted friends, Thomas Proctor, Virginia White and Frederick and Marian Christian; other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family received friends Friday, July 10, 2009, from 7pm to 8pm. Funeral services were held 10am Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Sharon Baptist Church, 22 E. Leigh St. Dr. Paul A. Coles, officiated. Interment Roselawn Memory Gardens.
