Gwendolyn Gay "Gwen" Miller, 83, of Wardensville, WV, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Gwen was born on February 4, 1926 in Norfolk, VA a daughter of the late Shelton Mann and Lucille Carter Gay. She was a 1944 graduate of Wardensville High School in Wardensville, WV, a member of the Wardensville United Methodist Church in Wardensville, WV and was very active in the community through her membership in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post # 2102 in Wardensville, WV where she served as past President.
Gwen married Leonard L. Miller on March 13, 1944 in Hagerstown, MD. Leonard died on September 27, 2008.
Surviving is one daughter: Gayle Miller of Vienna, VA, two brothers: Shelton Mann Gay II of Vienna, VA; Richard G. Gay of Berkeley Springs, WV, one sister: Sue White of Beckley, WV and many family and friends.
Gwen is preceded in death by one sister Jean Barnhart.
Funeral services will be held at the Loy-Giffin Funeral Home in Wardensville, WV on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Michael Funkhouser. Interment will be in the Wardensville Cemtery.
Pallbearers will be Shelton Mann Gay III, Howard Orndoff, Tom White, Ron Stevens, Jr., John Bowman and Kenney Dove.
