Wounded and captured at Pickett's Charge, Battle of Gettysburg, July 3, 1863. Admitted to US Army General Hospital, Chester, PA on July 21, 1863. Prisoner of War, died in captivity of exhaustion and/or gunshot wound on September 30, 1863. Originally buried at Chester Rural Cemetery, Chester, PA. Removed to Philadelphia National Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA in 1891. Buried at Confederate Soldiers and Sailors Monument.PVT CO C 28th NC, CSA
