Lexington -- Verneil Siron, 93, Lexington, died at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday (March 19, 2008) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Bloomigton.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ Uniting in Lexington with the Rev. Jan Proeber officiating. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Calvert & Musselman Funeral Home, Lexington, and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the Church Memorial Fund or the Lexington Community Center.
She was born Aug. 3, 1914, in Lexington, daughter of Ellis and Bess Rockel Garrett. She married Harold M. Siron on Jan. 29, 1938, in Lexington. He died Nov. 25, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Bork, Lexington; two grandsons, Geoff (Kim) Bork, Sterling, and Scott (Crystal) Bork, Lexington; four great-grandchildren, Summer, Spencer, Paige and Zachary; and one sister, Sherry Poorbaugh, Tremont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, James Bork; and three sisters.
Verneil was a member of the Church of Christ, Uniting (Disciples of Christ) Lexington; and was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University.
