Martin Ulmen, 61, a farmer living in South Bend township died suddenly this morning in a local hospital.
Mr. Ulmen was born on August 13, 1892 in Mankato township and had lived in the area all his life.
He is survived by his wife and eight children, Pfc. Martin Ulmen, Jr., with the army in Okinawa; the following at home, Cyril, Norbert, Patricia, Mary Ann, Iona, Theresa and Barbara; his mother, Mrs. Pauline Ulmen, Mankato; two brothers, Edward of Madelia and Robert of Route 1, Mankato; two sisters, Mrs. Paul Sanftner, St. Peter and Mrs. Wade Page of St. Paul.
Mr. Ulmen was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic society.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday in SS. Peter and Paul's church and burial will follow in Calvary cemetery. The rosary will be recited at Landkamer's funeral home at 8 p. m. Monday.
