Death Takes James Watson
Tuscola Resident Dies Sunday
Cass City - James Watson, 87, lifelong resident of Greenleaf Township, Tuscola County, died Sunday at Stevens' Nursing Home, here, where he had been a patient for 18 months.
Mr. Watson was born in Greenleaf Township, Sep. 1, 1866, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Watson.
He Married Miss Violet May Nicol in Sandusky in September of 1895. Mrs. Watson died in 1906.
In 1909, he married Miss Mary Ann Walker in Cass City. Following marriage they made their home in Greenleaf Township. Mrs. Watson died in 1936.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Stewart Holmes of Hawthorne, CA; one son, Vern Watson of Cass City; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Nicol of Lansing and Mrs. Agnes Ellsworth of Whitemore; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Watson may be seen at Little's Funeral Home. The funeral will take place Wednesday and burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.

On the marker, James' birth year is listed as 1886. I believe this may be incorrect and should be 1868, due to the US census reports from 1870 and 1880.
