Mrs. Catherine Eletha Thompson Mason, 72, died at 1923 44th Ave., was born in Long Beach on April 13, 1888, and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. A member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband, J. T. Mason, Gulfport; six sons, Huey P. Thompson and W. H. Thompson Jr., both of Gulfport; H. Roy Thompson, Long Beach; the Rev. Clyde M. Thompson, Landon; Robert E. Thompson, Bay St. Louis; and Mr. M. V. Thompson, New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Kerr, Houston, Texas; Mrs. O. L. Scarborough, Pass Christian; and Mrs. R. E. Elsworth, Gulfport; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Herchel Saucier; one brother, H. H. Allen, Nashville, Tenn.; and five sisters, Miss June Allen, Long Beach; Mrs. Viola Cox, Long Beach; Mrs. Mathilda Alexander and Mrs. Bessie Hartsell, both of Gulfport; and Mrs. Ella Neuborn, Long Beach. Funeral services will be held from Riemann's Chapel at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Clyde Thompson and the Rev. Phillip Allen of Antioch Baptisty Church in Long Beach officiating. Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery.
