Leona Stanley of Charlottesville died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Laurels.
Born July 4, 1909 in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Martha Peeks and George McClanahan.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Stanley, a daughter, Allene Reedy, and a son, Charles Stanley, two brothers, Robert McClanahan and James McClanahan, two sisters, Lilly Skeens and Belva Sloan and a son-in-law, John D. Linkous.
Leona was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Herndon Chapter #55, and former member of the Church of Christ in Fairfax.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Linkous of Charlottesville, her sons; Harold L. Stanley of Clintwood, Jesse L. Stanley of Oakdale, CA, Larry Stanley of Gainesville, and Gary Stanley of Brandon Vermont, She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral was held Friday July 18, 2008 at National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, VA.
