"STANOVICH FUNERAL WILL BE TOMORROW"

"Jacob Stanovich, aged 36 years and two months, and lifelong resident of Biloxi and member of the local police force, died at his home, 407 Lee street, yesterday afternoon at 1:50 after an illness of about three days. Mr. Stanovich had been ill at times for several years, but of late had been much improved. An automobile accident about a week ago aggravated his trouble and confined him to his bed. Prior to his connection with the city Mr. Stanovich was in the bakery business with his father, the late Jacob Stanovich, Sr. They owned several bakeries and later sold their interests. For the last few years he has benn on the Biloxi police force, first, as a special officer and later on full time. He was a man of unusual popularity, liked by all who knew him. As an officer he was always courteus. He was held in the highest esteem by a large number of friends. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Kate Negrotto, a son J. J., aged 16, student at Biloxi High school, his mother, Mrs. J. Stanovich, Sr., two brothers, T. M. and Martin, and five sisters: Mrs. G. B. Wink, Mrs. J. W. Covacevich, Miss Frances Stanovich of Biloxi, Mrs. A. W. Kyle of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. D. W. Ellzey of Osyka(?), Miss. The funeral hour for the services for the late Jake Stanovich, Jr., has been changed from tomorrow afternoon to tomorrow morning at a requiem mass at 10 o'clock from the Church of the Nativity."

"We wish to thank our many friends for their numerous kindness during the brief illness and death of our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Jacob Stanovich, Jr. Especially do we desire to thank Rev. Father Degner, Doctors Eley, Trudeau, Burnett and Carroll, Mrs. Taylor, nurse, Mrs. A. Meaut, Mrs. J. Cox, ? Michel, the city officials, police force and for the many beautiful floral offerings and other expressions of sympathy. - Mrs. J. Stanovich, Jr., and son, J. J. Mrs. J. Stanovich, Sr. and family."
