He had apparently died of a heart attack or stroke sometime Thursday morning, according to Deputy Sheriff Roy Hardaker, who investigated. Hardaker reported that there were no indications of violence and that the kitchen light had been left burning.
Born in Boone county, Dec 27, 1865, he was the son of Josiah and Mary Elizabeth Bowman. He married Rose Sparks Sept 27, 1888, who preceded him in death Aug 3, 1939.
He was a member of the New Ross Christian Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Linn and Mrs. Elmer Myers, both of near New Ross and two nephews, Mark Linn of Martinsville and Manson Linn of Urbana, Illinois.
Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.
