Her obituary in The Northern Light, September 1872 reads: "At her residence, 1st concession Thorah, on Sunday 1st. September, Ann McEwen, beloved wife of Kenneth Campbell, mother of the esteemed Reverend Kenneth Campbell, P.P., at the age of 68 years. A very large number of friends and acquaintances followed the last remains of the deceased on Tuesday morning to the cemetery at Beaverton, where they were interred according to the rites of the Catholic Church, of which deceased was a devout member."
