The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 11, at the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home in Cookeville and from 1 p.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Nash died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at his home.
He was born June 24, 1927, in Putnam County to the late Shelah (Buster) and Myrtle Myatt Nash.
Hooper served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for more than 50 years. Mr. Nash spent his life as a self-employed farmer in the 16th district.
His family includes his wife of 59 years, Jeanetta Clouse Nash of Baxter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Nella Nash and Stanton and Pat Nash, all of Baxter; four grandchildren, David Nash and fiancee Lori Greatorex of Sparta, Traci Davidson and husband T.J. of Baxter, Christy Tennant and husband D.D. of Cookeville and Richard Nash and wife Beth of Sparta; and six great-grandchildren, Levi Nash, Anthony Tyson, Bailey Nash, Carli Davison, Mason Nash and Chloe Tennant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Nash.
Pallbearers will be friends from Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
Bros. Tracy Gross and Harlen Simmons will officiate at the services.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Caris Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Mr. Nash.
