FATAL PARALYTIC STROKE

Olin Johnson Succumbs to Paralysis After Illness of Little More Than a Week

Olin Ford Johnson, 17-year -old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Johnson of Saratoga, died at the family home on Sunday morning at 8:30, after an illness covering a period of about eight days, a paralytic stroke being the cause of his untimely death.

Olin came lo town on Friday, November 2, from the Schoonjans ranch, where he had been employed during the summer. He attended the dance that evening, being in good spirits and apparently enjoying his usual good health. The next day, however, he complained of a severe headache, as well as aches and pains in other parts of his body, and evidences of paralysis soon begun to appear, and spread throughout the nerve centers until the young man was almost totally paralyzed. Drs. Swisher of Rawlins and Burke of Encampment were called in consultation with Dr. Price, and everything possible done to afford the young man some measure of relief, but without avail.

Olin was born on Christmas day, 1900, at Atlanta. Mo., and came to Saratoga with his parents some eight years-ago. He was a clean, energetic, manly lad and a friend to everyone. He was a member of the graduating class of the local high school last spring, and since his graduation had been working steadily at the Schoonjans ranch near Elk Mountain.

The funeral was held from the family home Monday afternoon, and was attended by hundreds of friends of the bereaved family. The services were conducted by the Rev. L. D. Jarrard of the Presbyterian church, and interment was made in the local cemetery.

The sorrowing relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of a very large circle of friends in their grief over this sudden visitation.
