Harris made purchases at his father's estate sale in 1825. This family settled ca 1835 in Wayne Twp.,Allen Co., OH. They are found in Auglaize Co., OH, (formerly Allen Co.)in 1850 [U.S. Census], although children Orin and Maritha were living that year with their uncle, Randall Wells, Sally d. 25 July 1858 aged 48y, and is bur. at Willow Branch Cem. [Auglaize Co. Cem.]. Harris mar.(2) 2 Dec. 1858 in Allen Co. Lucinda (Cook) Brown, widow of William H.Brown, Jr. [Allen County Indiana Marriages, A:256, #1170]. She was b. in 1824 and d. 3 Aug. 1893 aged 69y [g.s.]. Harris d. 23 Nov. 1885 aged 76y 7m 22d [gs.], and is bur. at Willow Branch Cem, [Auglaize Co. Cem.] His obituary called him "an old and respected citizen" [Lima (OH) Daily Democrat Times, Tues. Nov. 24, 1885]. Probate was in Auglaize Co., #3178. [Ref. Connie Wells Kinnear, Forest, OH.]
