Mrs. Mabel Dunn, 88 of Bonaparte, died Wednesday at 10:15 p.m., at the Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.
She was born Jan. 14, 1888 at Utica to Stephen and Alice Beswick Johnston. She spent most of her life on a farm seven miles north of Bonaparte and was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church and the Bonaparte American Legion Auxiliary.
On Dec. 24, 1908 she married John W. Dunn. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Stephen of Farmington; two daughters, Irene McAllister of Alexandria, VA, and June Flynn of Livermore, CA; one sister, Lena Wilmough of Des Moines; five step grandchildren; and 11 step great-grandchildren.
The service will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m., at Miller-Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington, with the Rev. Lester Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dibble Cemetery near Utica.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7:30 to 9 o'clock.
