Bailey Services Set on Saturday
Funeral services for Arnell French Bailey, 53, Maple Meadow, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Coal Marsh Baptist Church, Glen Daniel, by the Rev. Denny Dinsmore and the Rev. Robert Perry.
Burial will be made in the family cemetery at Craney.
Bailey died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in a Beckley hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Born May 29,1905, he was a son of the late Isaac and Cassie Canterbury Bailey.
He was employed by the Raleigh Wyoming Mining Co. at Glen Rogers and was a member of Local Union 6004 of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Maple Meadow.
Survivors include his wife, the former Naoma Canada; three sons, Leonard of Murfield, Va., and James and Ernest, both at home; three daughters, Ethel, Nellie, and Cassie, all at home; five brothers, Virgil of Glen Rogers, Garner of Sabine, Ralph and Seth, both of Murfield, and Fleet of Stanaford; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Richards of Stanaford, Mrs. Antha Adkins of Pineville, and Miss Gladys Bailey of Oceana; and one grandchild.
The body will be taken from the Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home to the residence at 10 a.m. Friday.
Pallbearers will be Arnold, Fred, and Carman Bailey, Claude Bunch, Weldon Griffith, and Fred Johnson.
