My Uncle Val was married to my paternal aunt, Ada Augustine. He was a very nice guy and I remember he was a good cook. He served in World War II as a corporal. They had four children during their marriage, Ruth, Marlys, Valerie & Val Jr. (Sonny). Their son was killed in a mining accident when he was only 19. He died the day his son was born. (It was so sad.) They lived on a small farm in Ewen, Michigan, just a ways up the hill from Ada's parents.
