GLEN FORK - Nola Cynthia Sanders, 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at her residence.

Born Jan. 26, 1911, in Glen Fork, she was the daughter of the late Allen Jackson Adkins (1875-1961) and Rebecca E. Brooks-Adkins (1885-1970).

Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Carroll Sanders (1906-Deceased) whom she married on April 18, 1930 in Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1930, Page 224, Application Date: April 18, 1930); a son, Glenn Sanders (1930-1989); a grandson, Roger Wayne Biggs (1955-1958); two sons-in-law, Earl Roger Biggs (1932-1978) and Robert E. Vall (1939-1990); three brothers, Clarkson "Clark" Adkins, Willis Adkins (1922-1992) and Herman Adkins (1926-1993); and a sister, Thelma Adkins-Acord (1907-1991).

Survivors include five daughters, Lydia "June" Sanders-Shumate (1932-2009) and her husband, Dewane A. Sanders (1926-2005), of Glen Fork, Edna Mae Sanders-Biggs (B. 1934) of Glen Fork, Clara Sanders-Younce and her husband, George, of Stow, Ohio, Jacqueline Sanders-Vall (B. 1944) of Sterling, Va., and Patricia Sanders-Kritzer and her husband, David, of Raleigh, N.C.; three sons, Raymond Sanders and his wife, Kay, of Glen Fork, Jackie Sanders and his wife, Kay, of Glen Fork, and David Sanders and his wife, Jo Ann of Glen Fork; a daughter-in-law, Eva Sanders (B. 1937) of Ghent; seven sisters, Ethel Adkins-Gamble (1906-Deceased) of Man, Alta Adkins-Cook (1914-Deceased) of Glen Fork, Inez Adkins-Cook (1915-2010) of Jesse, Ila Adkins-Powers (1917-Deceased) of Peoria, Ill., Opal Adkins-Francis (B. 1925) of Glen Fork, Janet Adkins-Pruiett of Sabine and Audie Adkins-O'Bryan of Dublin, Va.; 25 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Glen Fork Baptist Temple with the Rev. Randy Majors officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny.
