OVERBROOK --- Theodore "Shorty" Dreher, 81, Overbrook, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Dreher lived in Topeka for 55 years. He was employed as a press operator for Carpenter Cleaners and later employed by Hardee's restaurants.
He was born May 23, 1922, in Hays, the son of Nicholaus and Catherine Bieker Dreher.
Mr. Dreher was a Roman Catholic.
He married Joetta Louise Trude on July 31, 1954, in Topeka. She resides at Brookside ...
She resides at Brookside Manor in Overbrook. Other survivors include three daughters, Anna B. King, Hiram, Ga., Joetta M. Wyatt, Scranton, and Theo L. Bourquin, Carbondale; a sister, Irene Clark, Topeka; a brother-in-law, Robert Robinson, Manhattan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home in Topeka. Burial will follow in Carbondale Cemetery at Carbondale. Mr. Dreher will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home, 800 S.W. 6th St., Topeka, 66603.
