The funeral will take places from the First Baptist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery (east of Pana).
Mrs. Anna Barding, whose maiden name was Edwards, was born in Robertson County, Tennessee Dec. 23, 1820. In 1837, she was united in marriage to W. C. Grimes and moved to McCracken County, Ky. In 1849, Mr. Grimes passed away, leaving a widow and six children, two boys and four girls. In 1853, she married James W. Barding and moved to Moweaqua, Ill., where she united with First Baptist Church in that place. In 1860, James Barding passed away from this life (in Kevil, Kentucky of typhoid fever), leaving her again a widow.
In all, Mrs. Barding was the mother of 10 children. Out of that number, two sons, J. A. Barding and Richard C. Grimes survive her.
Mrs. Barding has always been a good Christian worker and at her death, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pana. She was a loving mother and friendly neighbor. Notwithstanding her age, she knew everyone till the last. She died praising the Lord.
