ADEN SCHRUM
Aden Schrum was born in Terre Haute, Ind., Aug. 17th, 1868, and passed away at home on Roland Ave., Chariton, Iowa, Wednesday morning, June 13th, 1923, at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 26 days.
Mr. Schrum met with a severe accident in the C. B. & Q. railroad yards, of which company he was an employee, on the evening of April 28th, from which he suffered continuously until death came to his relief.
He was married to Miss Jennie Fisher in 1894. To this union seven children were born, five of them preceding the father in death. Those left to mourn his untimely demise are his wife, two daughters, Misses Josephine and Daisy, and two step-children, Mrs. Belle Conner, of this city, and Mrs. Jessie Kellar, of St. Paul, Minn.
Mr. Schrum has been a member of the Congregational church for many years, holding membership at Galesburg, Ill.
Services were held over the remains at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, by Rev. Pontius, after which the body was tenderly laid to rest in the Grimes cemetery near Lucas, there to await the resurrection of the just.
