James E. Hunt passes away at Webster Gen.

James Edley Hunt, 66, native of Choctaw County, died February 12 at Webster General Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Hunt was born August 1, 1905 and resided north of Ackerman on Highway No. 9. He was a re tired farmer and an employee of the Welfare Department, and a retired schoolteacher. He was a member of the Ackerman Church of Christ where he served as an elder.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 13, at the Ackerman Church of Christ. Officiating were Mr. Dan Beardon, assisted by Mr. Farrel Spiegal, minister of Ackerman Church of Christ, and Gary Puryear, minister of Eupora Church of Christ. Burial was in Nebo Cemetery with arrangement by Adams Funeral Home of Ackerman,

Active pallbearers were Therrell Hunt, Jerry Hunt. Sherman Ballard, W. L. Edwards, Floyd Earl Hunt, and Durrell Sober. Honorary pallbearers were all additional nephews.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Prewitt Hunt of Ackerman; two daughters. Mrs. Glenn H. Booth and Mrs. Jimmy Busby of Eupora; three sons, Doyce Hunt of Olive Branch, Bobby Hunt of Jackson and Coyt Hunt of Ackerman; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Cooper of Starkville Mrs. Lorene Edwards and Mrs. Erma Ballard of Ackerman, and Mrs. Mildred Prewitt of Gloster; three brothers, Eldon Hunt, Russ Hunt, and Charlie Hunt, Sr., all of Ackerman.

Eleven grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Cannie Prewitt, of Clarksdale also survive.
