DR. L. H. VON GOHREN DEAD.
Former Orleanian Succumbs at His Home at Bay St. Louis.

Bay St. Louis, Miss., Aug 31 - Dr. L. H. Von Gohren, a practicing physician and prominent citizen of Bay St. Louis, died this afternoon at 6:45 o'clock. He had been in failing health for nearly a year, and for the last month confined to his room.

Dr. Von Gohren was 62 years of age and a native of Germany. In early manhood he came to New Orleans, becoming a resident of the Third District, where he successfully practiced his profession. At one time he was a member of the New Orleans Board of Health. About twenty years ago he bought a home at the Bay, where he continued to practice his profession. He was frequently honored with positions of public trust and made an enviable record as a member of the City Council, serving several terms continuously, and also as Mayor pro tem, and rendering valuable service as member of the Board of Health of Bay St. Louis.

He is survived by his son, Herman Von Gohren, of New Orleans; Mrs. W. J. Gex, wife of a prominent attorney; Mrs. W. W. Jenks, of Mobile, and Mrs. E. C. Delamain, of Bay St. Louis.

The funeral will take place from the residence to-morrow afternoon at 5 o'clock.
