George Henry DEASON, son of Rufus DEASON and Nancy Ophelia BAGLEY, was born on 21 August 1913 in Coosa County, AL and died on 8 June 1993 in Anniston, AL. George was educated and graduated from Goodwater School. He was ambitious and wanted to provide more of a life for himself, he moved to Anniston, AL in the 1930s to live with his older sister, Odell DEASON, and her husband, John Alex DEASON. George worked as a waiter and cook during early adulthood (The Pie House and Humphries Lunch Counter). He married Miss Mary Jewell HOLLINGSWORTH on 20 December 1941 in Anniston, AL, daughter of John Joseph Oscar HOLLINGSWORTH and Willie Jerusha WARDLAW. George registered for World War II draft on 16 October 1940 at Anniston, AL and was enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Army on 17 March 1942 at Fort McPherson in Atlanta, GA. After returning home from serving in Europe, most notably at The Battle of the Buldge, he and his wife proceeded to have two children, Nancy Larelle DEASON and Larry Kenneth DEASON. His wife, Mary Jewell, died in August 1952, and he married Nelle AUSTIN HENDERSON. George worked as a fireman for the City of Anniston and was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.
