She was born Monday, Nov. 18, 1929, at Parsons, a daughter of the late Walter Clyde Plum and Laura Della Loughry Plum. On July 1, 1955, at Parsons, she was married to Hubert D. Knotts, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, John H. Foster and wife Barbara of Montrose, Rodney A. Foster and wife Kathleen of Baltimore, Md. and David D. Knotts of Parsons; three grandchildren, John D. Foster of Parsons, Susan Foster of El Dorado, Ark, and Samantha Knotts of Virginia; two step-grandsons, Robbie D. Courtney and wife Stephanie of Philippi and Mark J. Courtney of Ken.; two special grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole "Nicky" Foster and Jesse Wayne "J.W." Foster of Montrose; and one step-great-grandson, Nathan Courtney of Philippi; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by four brothers, Elmer Plum, Joseph Plum, Walter "Tucker" Plum and Frank Plum: and four sisters, Georgia Teter, Bessie Godwin, Ruby Stevenson and Mary South.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1948. She was a former employee of the Tucker County Board of Education for over twenty years, as a teacher's aide. She was a homemaker. She loved to dance, was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Parsons.
The family received friends on Saturday, April 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor on Sunday April 6, at 1 p.m. Pastor Allen D. Crosten officiated and interment followed in Parsons City Cemetery at Parsons. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to First United Methodist Church, 101 First St., Parsons, W.Va. 26287.
