"Lis was born the eighth child of Isaiah and Bessie in 1876 in Jackson Twp, Highland County, (Belfast) on the farm family. After finishing (?) school (1892) he moved to Greene County, worked with Wilson T Stretcher in Cedarville Twp “Stretcher Farm” He became acquainted with the Dane family and at age 24, married May Evalina Dane Sept 27, 1900.

Their first child, Alice, was born in 1905 (29) died in 1993 buried in the New Carlisle (OH) Cemetery- Second child Grace Evelyn (1908) died about one year old from eating strawberries- (diarrhea) buried in Clifton Cemetery. (.Rt 72). Third Child Russell (my dad) born in Moorefield Twp Nov 2, 1912 - died in 2003 buried in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Tremont City, OH. In the early 1930s, Lis and Eva separated and Eva moved into Alice’s home on the corner of the New Carlisle Pike and the North Hampton Road. (home built about 1934-35)

Eva died in 1953 and is buried in the Clifton Cemetery near Rt 72 south of Springfield, OH
